The 3rd generation AirPods are lightweight and offer a new headphone shape. They sit at just the right angle to provide comfort and better direct sound to your ear. The stem is 33 percent shorter than AirPods (2nd generation) and includes a pressure sensor for easy music and call control.
The sound is placed all around you, creating an immersive, three-dimensional listening experience for music, TV shows and movies. The gyroscopes and accelerometers in AirPods work together to track your head movements - so it feels like you're at the centre of the songs and scenes.
The music automatically tunes to match the shape of your ear. Inward-facing microphones detect what you're listening to, then adjust low and mid-range frequencies to deliver rich detail in every song.
AirPods have an additional battery life of up to 6 hours of listening and up to 4 hours of talk time compared to AirPods (2nd generation). With just 5 minutes of charging, you get roughly an hour of listening or talk time. And with the MagSafe charging case, you can enjoy up to 30 hours of total listening time and charge with a compatible MagSafe charger or wireless charger.
Both AirPods and the MagSafe charging case are rated IPX4 water-resistant - so they can withstand anything from rain to sweat from rigorous exercise.
Installation is easy - pull them out of the case and they are ready to use. You can automatically switch between Apple devices. In-ear detection knows the difference between your ear and other surfaces. Notifications with Siri gives you the ability to let Siri read your notifications through your AirPods. And with audio sharing, you can easily share a song or video with friends between any two sets of AirPods.
