How to use Xiaomi scooter?

Turning on/off

Let's start with the complete foundation and thus the turning on.  All Xiaomi electric scooters are connected by a common element, the on / off button on the bottom of the control unit, which is located between the handlebars.  To turn it on, just press this button once.  To switch off, then hold down this button for a long time.  Switching on and off is accompanied by 2 different, easy-to-remember sounds - short when switched on and long when switched off.  Switching on the scooter is also signaled by four LED diodes or a small display, which can be found above the button.

Light and eco mode

The other two very important functions are also controlled using the button already mentioned.  To switch on the light (front - located on the front of the control unit), simply press the button again with the scooter switched on.  To switch on the eco mode, which automatically reduces the maximum speed and prolongs the range, the button must be pressed twice in succession.

Charging

To start charging, simply connect the appropriate terminal to the scooter (the charging port is located at the bottom, on the side of the body of the scooter) and then connect the charger to the mains.  The state of charge can be checked using LEDs (each represents about 25% of the battery) or the display, or through a mobile application.  When charging, it's good to mention a few important tips that will extend the life of your scooter.

1. Never discharge the battery up to 0%
2. You can connect the scooter to the net after each ride
3. When not in use, keep the battery at least 50% charged

Folding

Xiaomi electric scooters can be easily folded for better storage and easier transfer.  The folding mechanism consists of a joint in the lower part of the handlebars, which are then attached to a small hook on the rear fender by means of a bell.  To unfold the scooter, the bell must first be released and the handlebars placed in an almost vertical position.  Subsequently, we can secure them with the help of a metal lever, which we will also place in such a position that it is parallel to the handlebars. The entire mechanism is then secured with a rotating fuse. We will perform the composition exactly the opposite.

Ride

The switch on the right side of the handlebars is used for acceleration.  However, its activation is conditioned by the manual movement of the scooter, which is best served by foot reflection, similar to a classic scooter.  Subsequently, we can accelerate using the switch.  For driving at a constant speed, it is possible to use the cruise control function, which is activated by holding the switch in the same position for a long time (if the function is not switched off via the application).  While riding, we recommend standing with both feet on the body of the scooter (the lower part where the battery is stored) in the position that suits you best (your feet can be next to each other or behind you). 

Braking

Braking on Xiaomi electric scooters occurs in two ways.  The first uses energy recuperation, for example the processing of kinetic energy, which is stored back into the battery. The intensity of this recuperation can be set in the application.  To start it, release the acceleration switch or turn off the cruise control. The second way to brake is to use a classic brake. To activate it, it is necessary to press the lever on the left side of the handlebars. 

Electric scooters, especially those from Xiaomi, are a very practical and affordable means of transport that can bring not only time savings but also a driving experience. Unfortunately, like other means of transport, as well as electronics, these devices cannot avoid various malfunctions and damage.
