On-screen alert - Important message

Preserving functions when replacing the display

True tone function

• The True Tone function will be preserved after copying the serial number, otherwise it will remain disabled/non-functional.
• The need to use a functional programmer.
• Copying the data and serial number from the original LCD to the programmer.
• Copying the data and serial number to the new LCD (chip) from the programmer.

Touch ID feature

• Not part of the display.
• Need to swap the fingerprint sensor from the original display to the new display kit.
• The fingerprint sensor is paired to the motherboard.
• Take extra care when replacing.
• if the sensor is damaged, it can be repaired at an authorized Apple center.

Face ID function

• Face ID is not included with the display.
• When replacing the display, care must be taken to store Face ID components.
• They must be stored in the same way as on the original display (device).
• After replacing the display, the Face ID feature is only functional if none of the essential components on your original iPhone are damaged. In the event of damage, repair is only possible at an Apple Authorised Centre.
