Battery replacement guide for the MacBook Air 13" Early 2015.
After finishing the repair, calibrate your new battery to achieve optimal performance. Charge the battery to 100% and keep it charging for at least 2 additional hours. Then use the MacBook until it fully discharges, and afterward charge it back to 100% without interruption.
Step 1 Bottom cover
Before you begin, shut down the MacBook, close the display, and place it face down on a soft surface.
- Remove the ten pentalobe screws - 2× 9 mm and 8× 2.6 mm - that secure the bottom cover.

- Insert your fingers between the display and the bottom cover and lift it upward.
- Remove the bottom cover.
Step 3 Battery
- Grab the plastic pull tab attached to the battery connector and pull it toward the front edge of the MacBook to disconnect the battery from the logic board.
- Disconnect the connector from the socket.
Step 4 Battery 2
- Remove the five Torx screws - 3× 6.9 mm and 2× 3.0 mm - that secure the battery.
Step 5 Battery 3
While handling the battery, avoid touching or pressing any of its four lithium cells.
- Grip the battery by the side edges closest to the logic board and lift it out.
- Don’t forget to calibrate the new battery.
