CPU Contact Frame for Intel 13th and 14th Gen Processors, Thermal Grizzly is a precision mounting frame for Intel LGA1700 motherboards. It replaces the standard Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM) and redistributes mounting pressure to reduce concave bending of the CPU heat spreader, improving the contact area between the CPU and cooler.

The standard LGA1700 ILM applies pressure around the central area of the elongated processor package. Under some conditions this can contribute to a concave heat-spreader shape, leaving the cooler with less effective contact near the CPU hotspot. The Contact Frame is designed to counter this by changing how mounting force is distributed.

Installation overview:

1. Remove the CPU cooler and clean the CPU heat spreader.
2. Following the Thermal Grizzly instructions, remove the motherboard's standard ILM.
3. Place the Contact Frame in the correct orientation and check that no motherboard components interfere with it.
4. Secure the frame using the supplied screws and tools.
5. Apply the thermal interface material and reinstall the CPU cooler evenly.

Important: Removing the original ILM may invalidate the motherboard manufacturer's warranty. Check motherboard layout carefully, especially on compact Mini-ITX boards, and follow the Thermal Grizzly installation guide.
